This year we celebrated NYE in TEXAS. Every morning we’d all wake up, have some coffee, and cram into our rental car to head into the city. And every night we’d drive back to our Airbnb and play a game or watch a move together (I fell asleep on the couch basically ever night).
My favorite part of the trip was walking San Antonio’s riverwalk and exploring the city (by scooter). Austin’s graffiti park was really cool to experience. The best views were from a cliff overlooking Pennyback Bridge and a cute spot on Mount Bonnell. And what’s a trip to Texas without stopping at a Buc-ee’s?
We were able to watch fireworks a little early on a bridge in Austin. By 11:59pm we were back at the Airbnb in our private jacuzzi passing a champagne bottle around (all in our birthday suits).
But the food was insane – here’s some of my favorites:
- In-N-Out – that sauce though
- Torchy’s Tacos – specifically the trailer park taco
- Salt Lick BBQ – never knew how good brisket burnt ends were until i came here
- Habesha – I always forget how much I love Ethiopian food!
